Work

7+ years of backend engineering.

I started my career in 2019, went remote for a Japanese company in 2022, moved to Japan later that year, and joined Kraken Tech in 2024. Each move was a step up in scale, from building features to owning systems.

    Senior Software EngineerKraken Tech

I work on customer migration, building backend services in Python and Django. Kraken runs 70M+ accounts around the globe.

    • Introduced the Diátaxis framework to our developer docs, giving every page a clear purpose and a consistent structure that readers find easier to use.
    • Built an OpenAPI-powered docsite that makes the schema the single source of truth for our API reference, removing about 90% of the duplicated, hand-written doc code.

    The move to Japan

Everything changed in November 2022, when I moved to Japan with Resonest. Tokyo felt like the opposite of Dhaka in almost every way. The streets were spotless, the air was fresh, and I never heard a car horn. The city was packed with people, yet it stayed remarkably quiet, everyone absorbed in their own lives. It was colourful, and it was enormous.

It hasn’t all been easy. The language is still a work in progress. Finding halal food as a Muslim takes effort, renting a flat as a foreigner is a challenge of its own, and life here costs far more than it did back home.

Work, oddly enough, barely changed. For the first few months I went into the office, and I loved the commute. When you’re new to a city, the train is the best way to see it: a different crowd in every carriage, and a different story at every station. Eventually I went back to working from home, and that is still how I spend most days, with the occasional trip to the office.

    — · Remote from Bangladesh → Japan

    Backend EngineerResonest Corp

Resonest builds a machine guidance system (MGS) and roller compactor system (RCS) for construction. Operators see their excavator or roller compactor move in 3D on screen, along with the ground already excavated or compacted, and calibrate their machines from the same app.

    • Built the 3D desktop app with Electron, React and Three.js, including full 3D views of the excavator's bucket and arm rotation.
    • Built the cloud system behind the business suite, including app auth, in-app updates for the desktop app, and construction file management.
    • Shipped the first cloud release of the MGS ecosystem, connecting everyone involved in a project.
    • Built a one-click installer that downloads and installs terminal apps, making app distribution about 70% more productive.
    • Led a team of three engineers.

    — · Dhaka, Bangladesh

    Senior Software EngineerDivine IT Limited

Where my career started. Divine IT builds PrismERP, one of Bangladesh's largest ERP systems, and I worked on the core PrismERP P series team in Python and Django.

    • Built a central authentication system so users of multiple ERP instances sign in once, a requirement for large international clients.
    • Built a master–slave data flow service that made dynamic dealer-management reports 50% faster.
    • Led a four-person team running a PrismERP product used by 100+ business customers.
    • In late 2021, led a team of four building simulation software for radio equipment from scratch with FastAPI and React, a one-off project for a government client.
    • Owned core ERP modules (supply chain, asset management, HR) and built an enterprise library management system.
